Sussex Pain Relief Center celebrates 10th anniversary

July 14, 2020

With attendees socially distancing, Sussex Pain Relief Center held a cookout at Redden State Forest to celebrate its 10-year anniversary.

The pain practice was started by Dr. Manonmani Antony, CEO and practitioner, as a response to the lack of options for pain control her patients experienced. She said, “My philosophy as a pain physician has always been to empower my patients to live their best lives. The most important thing I do is give them hope. Too often I feel like patients are told what they can’t do, but I’m interested in telling them what they can do. I want them to know that each of them has the ability and strength to take their life back. My team and I will always be there to support them in their journey.”

Antony is triple board-certified in anesthesiology, pain management and interventional pain medicine. With her unique combination of credentials, she has crafted a pain program at Sussex Pain Relief Center that incorporates advanced spinal procedures, medication management and a multidisciplinary suite of services including physical therapy, massage and acupuncture.

Sussex Pain Relief Center was one of the earliest adopters in the region of interventional pain medicine. This approach applies technology and research to create evidence-based, precision-driven tools. Pain practitioners use the tools to isolate the source of the pain and treat it at its origin.

The introduction of interventional pain management is another innovative tool that allows the center to offer patients drug-free, non-addictive options for pain relief.
