Sussex Strong gala to support local families Nov. 6

The Sussex Strong Gala, organized by the Sussex County Association of Realtors Community Service Foundation, invites guests to Party Like It’s 1999 from 6 to 10 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center.

Enjoying live music, dinner and dancing, attendees will relive the iconic decade of scrunchies, flannel shirts and chart-topping hits while supporting a vital cause. Proceeds from the evening will fund Sussex Strong’s annual holiday initiative, which provides Christmas gifts to local children in need.

Sussex Strong continues to accept donations of experiences and goods from individuals and local businesses for the live and silent auction fundraisers.

Looking ahead, volunteers will be needed from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, Dec. 2, at Walmart Rehoboth Beach, to shop for and help assemble new clothes, shoes and a toy for each of the kids on this year’s list of families in need, compiled with input from many local organizations.

Wrapping day is set for 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday, Dec. 9, at the Rusty Rudder, Dewey Beach.
