At The Table launches interactive cooking classes in Georgetown
At The Table opened its doors this July in Georgetown, bringing an interactive cooking experience to Sussex County. This business makes cooking both fun and delicious, with a combination of hands-on instruction and a full dining experience.
Each class is held in Chef John Sapienza’s log cabin home, offering a welcoming setting for up to eight guests. Sessions are booked in two-hour time slots between 12 and 6 p.m., and participants are invited to bring their favorite bottle of wine along. Guests can expect a mix of demonstration and hands-on learning. The classes are designed to build confidence so guests can re-create fine-dining experiences at home. There are various menu options for each event. All bookings can be made on At The Table’s website.
“I want to share my knowledge and great food,” said Sapienza.
Sapienza’s love of cooking began in his childhood kitchen and eventually led him to train professionally at Johnson & Wales University. After more than 40 years in the local restaurant industry, he decided to launch At The Table to share his passion not only for cooking but also for teaching with the local community.
“The beauty is working in my own home and doing what I love,” said Sapienza.
A Dover native and longtime Sussex County resident, Sapienza has deep roots to the area. Over the years, he has built strong relationships with local people and businesses. He is committed to sourcing ingredients locally in order to give back to the community he loves and calls home.
“Promoting local and trying to keep it local,” said Sapienza.
Looking into the future, Sapienza hopes to expand At The Table with even more class and event options. He also plans to grow partnerships with local producers, ensuring each class continues to highlight the best of Sussex County.
