Taylor Dade awarded Rotary scholarship
The Rehoboth Beach Sunrise Rotary Club announced Cape Henlopen graduate Taylor Dade is the winner of its 2020 college scholarship.
Selected from more than a dozen applicants, Dade, third in his class, is bound for New York City’s Columbia University to study biomedical engineering. He is planning on a career in public service.
Throughout his high school career, he has been active in the Sussex County Youth Philanthropy Board and as secretary of the National Honor Society. An AP Scholar with Honors, Dade is a multi-award winner, including being a member of the Mock Trial State Champion Team and the 2020 Delaware State Champion Coed Cheerleading Team.
Dade is also the recipient of the 2020 American Association of Medical Imaging National Scholarship and the Delaware Afro American Sports Hall of Fame Scholarship.
Taylor Dade epitomizes not only academic excellence but a true commitment to community service, very much in keeping with Rotary’s credo, Service Above Self.
