Broadway veteran performs April 29 - May 1

Ted Keegan, a seasoned performer and one of Broadway’s most popular Phantoms in “The Phantom of the Opera,” will return to Rehoboth Beach for a third season with Clear Space Theatre Company with his concert, “Ted Keegan: Singing the Great Composers.”

After two previous concerts and a leading turn as Frank Butler in “Annie Get Your Gun” at Clear Space, Keegan will present an all-new concert, celebrating classic music from the first half of the 20th century. “This year’s concert is very exciting for me,” says Keegan. “It isn’t about my personal story so much as it is about the composers and their stories behind creating this beautiful music.”

Audiences can expect to hear Keegan’s interpretations of such classic songs as “Over the Rainbow,” “All the Things You Are,” and “In the Still of the Night.” Keegan will be accompanied on piano by collaborator and Clear Space Artistic Director Doug Yetter.

“I have such a wonderful time collaborating with Doug for these concerts. He has a wonderful knowledge of the material,” Keegan says. “He is a joy to work with because he makes my life easier by being so good at what he does!”

Having performed as part of Clear Space’s past two seasons, Keegan has become something of an audience favorite in the area. “There is a wonderful supportive feeling in the community - not just those who work for Clear Space, but the audience as well,” says Keegan. “The audience here participates in the journey of a show, and we become like old friends very quickly. And there is nothing better than sharing a few stories and songs with old friends.”

Clear Space Theatre Company’s “Ted Keegan: Singing the Great Composers” runs Friday-Sunday, April 29–May 1 at the Clear Space Theatre 20 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach. Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for seniors, $15 for students, and $5 for children 12 and under.
