Thelma 'TJ' Monaghan, former Lewes resident
Thelma Peterson "TJ" Monaghan, 87, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014, at GHS Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, S.C.
TJ lived in Delaware for 80 years, growing up in Newport and graduating from Conrad High School. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. During retirement years, she and Bill traveled and spent 10 years wintering in Florida. They lived in Lewes for 10 years before locating to South Carolina seven years ago to be near their daughter.
TJ was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, William J. Monaghan; and her sister, Janice P. Schueler.
She is survived by her son, William J. Monaghan Jr. and his wife, Barbara of Wilmington; her daughter, Andrea M. Schober and her husband Bruce of Seneca; and her grandsons, Robert and Andrew Schober.
A funeral service was held at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, Thursday, Nov. 6. Burial was in Silverbrook Cemetery.
