Thirteen COVID-19 deaths posted May 14

The Delaware Division of Public Health is announcing 13 additional fatalities related to COVID-19 and is providing an update on the number of positive cases and recovered individuals. All data reported through the daily updates are based on data received as of 6 p.m. the previous day. 

In total, 260 Delawareans have passed away due to complications from COVID-19. Individuals who have died from COVID-19 ranged in age from 21 to 103 years old. Of those who have died, 137 were females and 123 were males. A total of 108 individuals were from New Castle County, 46 were from Kent County, 105 were from Sussex County, and one individual’s county of residence is unknown at this time.

The most recent deaths announced today ranged in age from 21 to 94. Eight were female and five were male. Six were New Castle County residents, one was a Kent County resident, and six were Sussex County residents. Nine of the individuals had underlying health conditions. Nine of the individuals were residents of long-term care facilities.   

The latest Delaware COVID-19 case statistics cumulatively since March 11, provided as of 6 p.m., Wednesday, May 13, include: 

  • 7,223 total positive cases 
  • New Castle County cases: 2,560
  • Kent County cases: 1,115
  • Sussex County cases: 3,503
  • Unknown County: 45
  • Females: 3,948; Males: 3,248; Unknown: 27
  • Age range: 0 to 103 
  • Currently hospitalized: 273; Critically ill: 52 (This data represents individuals currently hospitalized in a Delaware hospital regardless of residence, and is not cumulative.) 
  • Delawareans recovered: 3,080
  • 29,634 negative cases
