Thomas ‘Ray’ Jones, Millsboro native

Thomas “Ray” Jones of Millsboro passed away Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021, at the Delaware Hospice Center. He celebrated his 87th birthday Nov. 8.

He was born in Millsboro to the late Howard N. and Minnie P. Dorey Jones. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Charles Jones.

Ray is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mildred Fleetwood Jones; and two daughters, Karen Brinker (Gary) of Elkton, Md., and Kathy Eckerd (Michel) of North East, Md. He was blessed with four grandchildren: Zachary Cole, Logan Cole, Madeline Eckerd and Sophia Eckerd; as well as a sister-in-law, Bea Nelson of Millsboro. He was also Uncle Ray to many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 13, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. for visitation. Interment will follow at Carey’s Cemetery in Millsboro. Pastor Leza Smack will officiate.
