May 15, 2024

Thompson Island Brewing Company in Rehoboth Beach will host a local taco competition from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, May 19, in its spacious beer garden.

Raul Rodriguez, head chef at Thompson Island and the winner of the 2023 competition, will serve as emcee. Stepping back from the competition this year, Rodriguez will welcome participants from renowned local establishments such as Salt Air, Bluecoast Rehoboth, Papa Grande’s, Crooked Hammock, Fin & Claw, and Ocean View Brewing.

"Each of these competitors brings a strong taco game to the table," said Lauren Bigelow, marketing director for Southern Delaware Brewery. "We're excited to showcase entries from previous competition winners and nominees for the best tacos in the region. Regardless of who emerges as the winner, all our guests are sure to have a fantastic time."

Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door, and include a variety of tacos, access to a nacho cheese fountain, and a craft beer from Thompson Island. Guests will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite taco and the most creative entry.
