Troop 95 enjoys weekend activities at Camp Arrowhead

May 15, 2025

Members of Boy Scout Troop 95 spent a February weekend at Camp Arrowhead on Rehoboth Bay.

After placing gear into their rooms, scouts headed to the main cabin to talk and play games with the Arrow of Light members who were joining them that weekend. After a quick breakfast, Louise Rathfon navigated the AOLs to an out-of-the-way location to practice fire building and other skills, while Ben Ables and Matt Teoli directed the scouts in the morning's orienteering activities.

While half of the group was led in an activity called pacing, others pinpointed areas on their maps that they would have to use their compass skills to find. Participants paused for lunch of hamburgers, hotdogs and more, then headed into the afternoon activities.

The scouts broke off into groups to run the timed orienteering course, where teamwork and compass skills were the key to finishing.

As the day neared a close, the scouts and AOLs enjoyed Nicola pizza for dinner, followed by a campfire with skits and cheers emceed by Assistant Senior Patrol Leader Nick Westphal.

After the campfire, scouts and leaders enjoyed a night hike on Camp Arrowhead’s trails. Everyone ended up at the beach and viewed a number of constellations in the clear night sky.

Sunday morning, scouts cleaned up the cabins and packed, ate breakfast and attended a chapel service led by former Chaplain’s Aide Kyle Munson.

Once everything was in order, the troop headed back to Georgetown for unloading and parent pickup.
