Tucker G. Johns, loved family, friends, sports
A huge void can be felt on and off the football field, basketball courts, and track and fields at Monadnock Regional High School in Swanzey, N.H., with the unexpected passing of one of their star athletes, Tucker G. Johns, 18, of Fitzwilliam, N.H., who was a senior at MRHS at the time of his passing Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2025.
His parents, Robert W. and Lynn M. (Harding) Johns, proudly welcomed their son into the world Oct. 1, 2007, in Peterborough, N.H. On this day, he joined their large, loving family who all adored him from the moment they met. Tucker was called the babiest of the Johns' children, and he loved this position in his family.
Tucker excelled at athletics, starting with the Keene Knights football teams, to his position as tight end for the MRHS varsity football team, a love of football that spanned over 10 years. He also loved basketball, which he started at Emerson Elementary School in Fitzwilliam at the age of 5. He went on to be part of the JV and varsity basketball teams at MRHS, as well as the Jayhawks AAU traveling basketball league. Tucker also excelled at track and field, completing a decathlon in his sophomore year, earning a spot of 13th in the state. In the regular track and field season, he was part of a dominant 4x4 relay team, which he really enjoyed. Tucker's newest athletic passion was jiu jitsu. At any given moment in the past year, you could find Tucker challenging you to a roll, and he always won.
While sports were a big part of Tucker's life, an even bigger part was his family and friends. Tucker loved being with his family and friends. This is where he shared his big bright smile and fun-loving personality. He had a quiet demeanor at first glance, but as anyone who knew Tucker knows, he was one of the biggest goofballs and knew how to make anyone laugh. His favorite places to be with friends and family were Sunday family dinners, Old Orchard Beach camping trips with “the cousins,” snowboarding with friends, video game nights with friends, and anything involving food and driving. He was always up for an adventure, whether it was road trips to North Carolina with his mom, backpacking through the White Mountains with his mom, or hunting with his dad. Tucker also found joy being surrounded by his six nieces and nephews, who absolutely adored their famous “Uncle Tuck.”
Tucker was an honor roll student and had plans to become a plumber after graduation.
He will be greatly missed by so many in our community, however more so by his parents of Fitzwilliam; his siblings, William R. "Boody" Johns and his fiancée Alexis Nephew of Keene, N.H., Makenzie L. Alaniz and her husband Justin of Hubert, N.C., Bailee A. Johns and his wife Lara C. of Fitzwilliam, and Macey M. Johns of Baldwinsville, Mass.; his maternal grandparents, Donna Kuehl of Destin, Fla., and Gregory Harding and his wife Lucille Perry of Lewes; his paternal uncle, Andrew Johns and his wife Debbie of Fitchburg, Mass.; his maternal aunts, Jennifer Harding of Westminster, Mass., Sarah Berg and her husband Joel of Fitzwilliam; his nieces and nephews, Nolan Clemente, Lucia Alaniz, Benny Alaniz, Nora Alaniz, Ashley Johns, Sophia Colon and Georgia Johns; his cousins Megan Johns, Brittney Johns, Gracie Liukkonen, Tristan Berg, Chase Berg and Lane Berg; and his girlfriend, Jenna Furze. A sister, Ashley LeBlanc, and his paternal grandparents, Albert and Anna Johns, predeceased him.
Visitation and a Celebration of Tucker’s Life will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Monadnock Covenant Church, 90 Base Hill Road, Keene, N.H. The family has requested that visitors wear something purple in honor of Tucker. Burial in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Fitzwilliam, will be held privately by the family in the spring, as well as a proper Celebration of Life open to all friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, donations may be made in Tucker’s memory to the Monadnock Regional High School Athletic Program, c/o MRHS, 600 Old Homestead Hwy., Swanzey, NH 03446.
The Foley Funeral Home of Keene, N.H. is entrusted with Tucker’s services.
