The Upper Crust to feature Abraxas exhibit opening Jan. 30
The Upper Crust at 7 E. Market St. in Georgetown will present an exhibit by local artist Abraxas from Friday, Jan. 30, to Friday, Feb. 27.
There will be a Meet the Artist reception from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 9, at The Upper Crust where attendees can discuss Abraxas' art and inspiration. Light refreshments will be served. Admission is free.
Abraxas has a studio of art in Lewes and paints with Old Holland light fast oils and archival substrates. His focus in this exhibit will be a number of graphite sketches titled Sketched: Sussex and Beyond.
Since a young age, Abraxas has been inspired by the beauty of nature; he sold his first painting when he was 14. Abraxas’ works have been collected by fine art connoisseurs from around the world and are revered for their luminous quality. Abraxas is a constant traveler with sketchbook in hand and is an instructor of art at his studio in Lewes.
Numerous accolades have been bestowed upon the young artist, but to him the highest honor an artist can receive is to hang a sold work on a collector’s wall. Go to www.abraxasart.com.
The Upper Crust offers gallery space to local artists. Contact Bruce at bruce@theuppercrust.info or 302-856-2300 to discuss a potential exhibit.
