U.S. 13 Kart Club hosts awards banquet

March 4, 2021

The U.S. 13 Kart Club held its 2020 awards banquet Feb. 27 at the Delmar VFW.

Awards were given to top points finishers in each class. First-place winners received a trophy and fitted leather race jacket, while second-place finishers received a trophy and set of tires and/or wheels through sponsor Maxxis.

Ceremonies were led by departing President Jimmy Farmer, who will be moving on to the Hunterstown Speedway in Gettysburg, Pa., as the new vice president. Incoming 2021 President Aaron Headley said he has big plans for the upcoming season, but a main focus will continue to be on supporting the younger generation of drivers and their families, and drawing more spectators. Special thanks were given to the Delmar VFW Auxiliary for serving hearty beef and dumplings, to J& B Entertainment, and to those who contributed door prizes and auction items.

The U.S. 13 Kart Club is offering a class sponsorship opportunity. Each sponsorship will include a banner to be displayed on the grid during the 2021 racing season. Monies will be used to purchase trophies. Cost is $300. If interested, contact Treasurer Matt Ellingsworth at 302-242-2521 or any board member for more information.

The 2021 race season kicks off Saturday, March 27.
