Village Salon & Spa in Lewes hosted a service-a-thon Oct. 1 to raise money for Samaritan's Purse, an international relief organization.

All proceeds from services including hair cuts, manicures and massages benefited the organization. Raven Hudson said the staff - who donated six hours during a normal day off for the event - raised about $1,600 in services, which she and her husband matched.
