Village Volunteers group announces new board leadership

August 11, 2025

Village Volunteers recently announced the appointment of Jennifer Van Blarcom as president and Tracey Gersh, PhD, as vice president of its board of directors.

In 2024, the growing organization delivered more than 20,000 hours of volunteer service to older adults in the Milton, Lewes and Rehoboth Beach areas.

Van Blarcom brings a wealth of experience to the board, having begun her professional journey as a critical care nurse and later transitioning into leadership roles in pharmaceutical sales and global leadership consulting. She joined Village Volunteers in 2020 and accepted a board position in 2022. Van Blarcom’s passion for helping older adults live independently at home is deeply personal and closely aligns with the Village Volunteers mission.

Gersh brings more than 30 years of healthcare experience as both a clinician and senior administrator. With a background in counseling psychology and executive healthcare leadership, Gersh has led strategic planning, financial management and program development efforts in a variety of clinical settings. Her deep understanding of organizational growth and commitment to volunteerism make her a valuable addition to the leadership team. Gersh joined Village Volunteers in 2022 and joined the board in 2024.

“We’re in an incredibly exciting season of growth,” said Anna Moshier, executive director of Village Volunteers. “Jennifer and Tracey bring complementary experience in healthcare, nonprofit leadership and strategic planning that will help guide us into the future. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Steuart Martens for his outstanding leadership over the past five-and-a-half years as board president. As we look ahead, we welcome community members to join us as volunteers, serve on our committees or consider board involvement — there are many ways to make a difference.”
