Visiting Rehoboth while in Namibia in South Africa

December 20, 2023

Cape Gazette readers Donna Davis, John Cooley, and Gail Jackson had an amazing time during their visit to Namibia in Southern Africa. While in Namibia, they enjoyed visiting Rehoboth, not anything quite like Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, but the unique town located in central Namibia, which is just north of the Tropic of Capricorn. Rehoboth in Namibia lies on a high-elevation plateau with several natural hot-water springs. It receives sparse annual rainfall of 9.4 inches, although, in the 2010-11 rainy season, a record 28.8 inches were measured. Fingers crossed that Rehoboth Beach will not reach those crazy amounts of rainfall with all the coastal storms hitting the Cape Region lately.
