VITAS Delaware welcomes new medical director
Debbie Vermette, MD, has been named medical director for VITAS Innovative Hospice Care of Delaware. Board certified in hospice and palliative medicine and in family medicine, Vermette is responsible for the medical care and treatment of VITAS patients in VITAS’ Delaware community.
Consistent with VITAS’ commitment to hire only the top qualified and credentialed healthcare professionals, Vermette joined VITAS in 2004 as a home care team physician in Fort Worth, Texas. She was promoted to medical director in VITAS’ Forth Worth program in February 2008. In 2007, she was named VITAS’ National Physician Caregiver of the Year, and was appointed to VITAS’ Leadership Council in 2009.

Vermette received an undergraduate degree at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth and a medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Dallas Southwestern Medical School. She completed a family practice residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Memorial Hermann Hospital System.
