Voneita Y. Burton, housekeeper

Voneita Y. Burton, 58, of Lewes passed away Friday, Aug. 3, 2018. 

Mrs. Burton was born in Lewes March 19, 1960, to the late Harlan and Bernice Wright Jackson. She was a member of Israel United Methodist Church in Lewes. She worked as a housekeeper in various hotels over the years. She loved western and horror movies. She also enjoyed outside activities such as crabbing, the Nanticoke Indian Powwow and target practice. She was a very good eagle eye shooter. Voneita was loving, witty and you just never knew what she might say.

She leaves behind three children, William Shannon Street of Dover, Bruce Burton of Lewes and Carey Burton of Milton; three sisters; Evelyn Johnson of Milton, Doneita Witke (Ronald) of Harbeson and Darlene Spruill (Raymond) of Milton; nd one brother, Jerry Jackson and his companion Violet Frazier of Millsboro. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Madison Street, as well as her longtime companion and devoted friend, Wellington "Buddy" Hicks, extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Saturday, Aug.11, at Israel United Methodist Church, Plantation Road, Lewes, where friends may call from 11 a.m.  to noon for visitation. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.

Flowers are welcome. Arrangements by Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro.
