Voter registration on-site at Delaware Tech Sept. 24

September 7, 2019

The League of Women Voters of Sussex County and Delaware Technical Community College will mark National Voter Registration Day with on-site voter registration and information tables Tuesday, Sept. 24.

League volunteers will be on hand to register students, faculty, employees and visitors in the cafeteria between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., and at the bookstore between 4 and 6 p.m., at Delaware Tech’s Owens Campus in Georgetown.

Initiated in 2012 for the presidential election, National Voter Registration Day is designed to create an annual moment when the entire nation focuses on registering Americans to exercise their right to vote. As a nonpartisan national holiday, National Voter Registration Day counts on thousands of partners and volunteers across the political spectrum.

“The League of Women Voters does not support or oppose any political party or candidate for public office,” said LWVSC President Gwendolyn Miller. “Our aim is to get everyone out to vote, regardless of party affiliation, and we’re spreading the word that anyone with access to the internet can easily register online.”

For Delaware residents who are U.S. citizens 18 years old or over to register, go to www.iVOTE.DE.gov.

For the league’s nonpartisan voters guide and more information on voting procedures, polling locations, sample ballots and applications for absentee ballots, go to www.VOTE411.org. For more information, go to www.sussexlwv.org.
