Ward E. Gray, worked in retail

Ward E. Gray, 72, of Millsboro, formerly of Claymont, passed away Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes.

Born April 21, 1953, in Chester, Pa., Ward was the son of the late Paxon E. Gray Jr. and Anna Mary (Tranor) Gray. He dedicated much of his career to the retail industry, working at Ace Hardware, Lowe's and most recently at Kmart before retiring due to disability.

Ward is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy C. (Fischere) Gray; two sons, Matthew Gray and his companion Jennifer Rooke of Lewes, and John Gray of Millsboro; and six grandchildren: Tori, Hannah, Kaylan, Braydon, Mason and Ava.

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 11, at the Long Neck Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 32013 Long Neck Road, Millsboro, where a funeral service will begin at 12 p.m. Interment will be held privately.
