Water advisory for Slaughter and Broadkill beaches

Water advisories have been issued for Broadkill Beach and Slaughter Beach after high levels of enterococcus were detected in the water.

The Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control Recreational Water Program issued the swimming water advisories June 12 for Slaughter Beach and Broadkill Beach after water sample showed bacteria levels above the recreational water quality standard. Officials said more water samples will be taken June 13 and the advisory will be lifted once levels are within the safe range.
