Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control is partnering with Delaware Center for the Inland Bays to host the Water Family Fest and Native Plant Sale, a family-friendly event set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 6, at James Farm Ecological Preserve in Ocean View.

Attendees can explore hiking trails, do a passport challenge with exhibitors, or even try paddleboarding and kayaking. Food vendors include Taco Reho, Bountiful Bowls and Dewey Beer Company. Homestead Bluegrass band will provide live musical entertainment at the event’s main stage from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Short talks on topics such as land conservation, aquaculture and invasive species will take place every hour and 15 minutes from 10:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Family and children’s activities will include seining, bird identification and horseshoe crab tagging.
