Wendell Alfred has knowledge, experience for BPW seat

May 12, 2023

We are writing to support the candidacy of Wendell Alfred for the Lewes Board of Public Works.

We worked for and with Wendell at the Beebe thrift shop (now unfortunately closed!) for an extended period of time, and therefore we have had up-close experience with his management and personal skills alike. He was knowledgeable and careful in his overseeing of the day-to-day operations of the shop, from big picture to the minutiae, a most time-demanding responsibility within his role as president of the Beebe Auxiliary. He was a very effective supervisor of that most successful endeavor. Wendell is also personable and pleasant to work with.

Wendell has had a long history in the past with the BPW too, so he is a natural to return to the workings of the board. With his knowledge and experience, his intelligent and careful planning of matters at hand, as well as his cooperative and encouraging manner with other people with whom he works, he would be an excellent choice for board member.

Incidentally, we would recommend the highly qualified Barbara Curtis for the second open position at the board.
