I am writing to endorse Wendell Alfred, a 25-year resident of Lewes, for a seat on the Lewes Board of Public Works. Wendell previously served on the BPW and was honored for his service when the water production plant near Cape Henlopen High School was named for him. He was a member, then served as BPW president for many years, seeing it through times of great change.
Wendell has lived his life to volunteer and make Lewes a better place for all its citizens. Currently, Wendell is president of the Beebe Healthcare Auxiliary and is a member of AARP Executive Council for Delaware. He has proven his leadership and willingness to continue to serve. I have known Wendell for many years and know him as a man of integrity, compassion and dedication to his community.
