Wendy’s Warriors raise Alzheimer’s awareness

With the most light, the year’s longest day is the summer solstice.

On that day, people from across the world join together to renew the effort to fight against the darkness of Alzheimer’s. Every day a person cares for someone with Alzheimer's is the longest day.

Wendy’s Warriors, a team under the leadership of Wendy Biggs, kicked off its efforts to help June 23 with a service activity. Partnering with La Dolce Vita restaurant in Millsboro and the Last Chance Band, team members distributed more than 100 delicious meals in the Independence neighborhood near Millsboro, and raised awareness for their 2020 Alzheimer’s fundraising and education efforts.

The premier fundraising event for Wendy’s Warriors will be the 2020 Walk to End Alzheimer's Saturday, Sept. 26, in Rehoboth Beach.
