William ‘Billy’ Michael Clemens, hard worker
William “Billy” Michael Clemens, 36, of Ocean View passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 15, 2019 at his home. He was born in Langhorne, Pa., Dec. 29, 1982, to William Joseph Clemens and Mary Elizabeth (Coolidge) Clemens.
Billy was a graduate of Indian River High School class of 2001. He worked in the construction field with his uncle at All States Construction for several years and was currently employed with Half Moon Painting.
Billy was a standout baseball pitcher in high school and also played soccer throughout his high school career. He was a hard worker who provided for his son, and he was also willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Billy was an avid fisherman and faithfully attended local NA meetings.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Victor and Sybil Coolidge; paternal grandfather, William Joseph Clemens; and a brother, Kenny J. Coolidge. He is survived by his parents, William and Mary Clemens; his son, William Michael Clemens; his longtime girlfriend, Kaleigh Antonelli; two sisters, Lacey Clemens and her longtime boyfriend Tobey Gagnard, and Julie Clemens and her longtime boyfriend, Deandre White; and paternal grandmother, Catherine Clemens. He is also survived by an uncle, Michael Coolidge and his wife, Danielle; three aunts, Rosemary Clemens, Cathy Leary, and Joanne Vrabic and her husband Mark; a nephew, Giovanni Gagnard; and four cousins, Skylar Coolidge, Sara and Sophie Vrabic, and Erica Vogt; his beloved dog Bella, many lifelong friends, and many new friends he met in recovery.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 20, at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 21, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 35318 Church Road, Frankford, DE 19945. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Billy’s name to an organization to help with recovery.
