William Edward Morton, sheriff’s deputy

William Edward Morton, 85, of Lewes, passed away peacefully Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. He was born Oct. 10, 1936, in Bowling Green, Va., son of the late Frank Morton and Alice Johnson.

Mr. Morton graduated from Ralph Bunch High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He made his career serving for several years as a sheriff’s deputy for Fairfax County, Va. He was a loving partner, father, grandfather, stepfather, brother, uncle and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Morton is survived by his longtime partner, Robert S. Jackman; his children: Patrick Morton and Chantell Futch; his brother, Earl Morton; his sister, Margaret Johnson; his grandchildren: Andrea Miller, Eva Morton, Courtney Clancy and Alec Morton; and his stepchildren: Billy and Barry Atkinson, and Donna Morgan; and several nephews and nieces.

Services will be private.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes.
