Worcester Prep bestows winter sports awards

Worcester Preparatory School held its winter athletic awards assembly recognizing cheerleading and boys’ and girls’ junior varsity and varsity basketball athletes. Six students were honored with Eastern Shore Independent Athletic Conference inclusion on all-conference teams.

For girls’ junior varsity basketball, the most improved player award went to Maxine Ruggerio. Lydia Schwartz received he coaches award. Danielle Carr was awarded most valuable player.

For girl’s varsity basketball, Bella Marinelli received the most improved player award. Myranda Beebe received the coaches award. Most valuable player went to Lily Baeurle.

For boys’ junior varsity basketball, most improved player went to Ryan Mann. Owen West won the coaches award. Most valuable player was awarded to Hunter Simons.

For boys’ varsity basketball, Harrison Hume received most improved player. Brice Richins won the coaches award. Griffin Jones was named most valuable player.

For cheerleading, Sophia Haines was awarded most improved player. Anna Carpenter received the coaches award. Most valuable player went to Kate Abbott.
