Work underway at McBride Bathhouse in Cape state park

Aging boardwalk decking to be replaced
February 7, 2024

Beginning Wednesday, Feb. 7, the McBride Bathhouse and boardwalk in Cape Henlopen State Park will be closed for repairs.

According to Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control spokesman Michael Globetti, the project involves the replacement of aging boardwalk decking that leads down to the beach.

The beach will remain accessible from the main beach parking lot’s northern and southern dune crossings, as well as at Point Comfort, Fort Miles and Herring Point. An access mat will be placed on the main beach northern crossing for easier beach access during the construction period.

The project is expected to be completed within 60 days, but is weather dependent.
