Wreaths Across America observance set in Rehoboth Dec. 18

December 15, 2021

To express appreciation to veterans during the hustle and bustle of the holiday season on National Wreaths Across America Day each year, organizations across the country conduct wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery and more than 2,500 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea and abroad.

For the first time, Rehoboth Beach Main Street and the Rehoboth Beach Homeowners’ Association are teaming together along with Cape Henlopen High School JROTC to participate and honor local heroes. A short ceremony and wreath laying at veterans’ sites will take place at 12 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 18, in Epworth Cemetery on Henlopen Avenue in Rehoboth Beach. Following the ceremony, there will be a reception with refreshments at VFW Post 7447, 101 State Road, Rehoboth Beach. All community members are welcome.

To place a wreath at a specific site, place a wreath on marked sites to honor others who are not spoken for, or to volunteer, email rehobothwreaths@gmail.com as soon as possible.
