December 8, 2013

WSFS Financial Corporation, the parent company of WSFS Bank, has announced the winners of the Fifth Annual WSFS Pet Photo Contest. The Best in Show, Most Personality and Kids & Pets categories were chosen by a panel of judges from the Delaware Humane Association, while the Most Popular awardee was selected by the highest number of votes through the website. Participants were encouraged to vote once per day throughout the contest for their favorite pet photos. Winners can be viewed at www.wsfspetcontest.com.

“The Fifth Annual Pet Photo Contest brought some amazing photos of pets of all kinds and was again a smashing success,” said Rick Wright, executive vice president and chief retail banking officer. “Engaging with our customers and non-customers in this fashion is such a fun way to connect with the community and their love of animals.”

The Best in Show winner was Caesar, a 2-year-old bullmastiff submitted by Rhonda Bowman of Wilmington. Tori Golebiewski of Wilmington and her six-week old kitten, Nugget, were the winners of the Most Personality category while Harley, an 11-year old Saint Bernard and his playmate submitted by Jeremy Tomaszewski of Wilmington took home first place in Kids & Pets. The Most Popular winner was Emily Rose, a 15- year- old Pug from Penryn, Pa., submitted by Kathleen Haldeman. Winners each received a Concord Pet Foods & Supplies gift card and trophy.

“Viewing the submissions and allowing the Delaware Humane Association employees the opportunity to judge this year’s contest was a real joy,” said Patrick J. Carroll, executive director of the Delaware Humane Association. “The passion WSFS Bank and its associates have for animals is why this partnership is so meaningful for us.”

At the culmination of this year’s contest, WSFS Bank donated $2,500 to the Delaware Humane Association to help further the mission and vision of securing a safe environment for all companion animals.
