Xi Sigma launches 2024-25 Service Year
The Xi Sigma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi hosted its Beginning Day Luncheon Aug. 25 at Baywood Clubhouse in Millsboro for members and guests, celebrating the new year of sorority events and service to the community.
New officers leading the group for the 2024-25 sorority year are Fay Burnham, president; Clare Johnson, vice president; Lorraine Cintron, recording secretary; Linda Bolt, corresponding secretary; and Barbara Catts, treasurer.
Beta Sigma Phi is an international sorority aimed at encouraging friendship, education and service to the community. Xi Sigma has chosen Pathways to Success, based at Cape Henlopen High School, as its main service project for the year.
Sarah Gilmour of Pathways To Success was the speaker at the Sept. 10 meeting held at the home of member Kaye Webb. Gilmour shared the goals of the organization: preparing youth, adults and families for successful lives. She spoke about recent Pathways projects and shared ways the chapter could help support the organization’s worthwhile efforts. For more information, go to pathways-2-success.org.
Xi Sigma also plans regular donations of supplies to Just Us Cat & Kitten Rescue during the upcoming sorority year.
