The Delaware chapter of Fridays for Future, a nationwide youth environmental activist group, rallied March 25 on The Circle in Georgetown to urge local, state and federal governments to act now to change the trajectory of global warming. Several Cape Region students spoke at the event.
The gathering was part of the annual Global Climate Strike, which was started by Greta Thunberg in 2018. The goal of the strike is to put pressure on policymakers and governments around the world, to make them listen to the scientists and then take forceful action to limit global warming.
The theme for this year’s strike was People Not Profit.
