‘Delaware Shore’ movie begins theatrical run

November 26, 2018

Avocado Media announces its award-winning film "Delaware Shore," directed by Raghav Peri, will begin its theatrical run in Los Angeles and New York in December 2018.

"Delaware Shore" was written, produced and directed by Raghav Peri, based on the novel by Michaelangelo Rodriguez.

Agnes, a Holocaust survivor living in Slaughter Beach, is tasked with raising her grandchildren after they are abandoned on her doorstep. As they grow up, she finds she is not able to control them. Her grandson Gallagher finds himself in a gay romance with a sincere suitor. Granddaughter Tasha is attracted to a young hoodlum. Agnes, permanently traumatized by her wartime experiences, is emotionally abusive to Gallagher and Tasha. Will they be able to forgive her before it’s too late? The story digs a little deeper to uncover truths about how individuals’ pain affects the people they care about most.

"Delaware Shore is an important and thought-provoking film. It's a moving story, and we know our audiences will enjoy it when it opens this December. They will surely take home the characters and spirit of the film. I can't wait for everyone to see this film in theaters," said Peri.

Born in Hyderabad, India, Peri moved to the United States in 2013. In summer 2015, he made an indie short, “Bar Study,” a psychological drama about Rob - a man fascinated by fellow human beings who goes to a bar every day to study others. And it's a fascination that may or may not end with a killing. The movie had a world premiere in Delaware at Penn Cinema, Wilmington in October 2015.

The movie was greatly appreciated by everyone and played at various film festivals across the globe. After his success with “Bar Study,” Peri assisted several directors and helped produce a lot of short films, web-series and indie features in the tri-state area to gain more experience and enhance his craft.

“Delaware Shore” was his first feature. Peri has won four First Time Filmmaker awards for his debut feature.
