Summer League Games for Week Four

 

Elementary Division

 

In the game on field #1 Monday, the Dunes defeated the Guards by a final of 4-0. Earning the goals for the Dunes were: Bre Elliott (2), Emilyn Swope and Leighton Swope. The goalies for the game were Blair Chubb for the Guards and Alayna Martinez for the Dunes. On field #2 Layla Conn gave the Tides the first half lead before the Waves came back in the second half with goals by Norah Block and Alexandra Ellis (2). Goalies in the game were Myla Smith for the Waves and Mady Lehman for the Tides.

Games continue after the 4th of July break with the Tides vs the Guards and the Dunes facing off against the Waves on Monday, July 9th on the turf at Cape Henlopen HS.

Senior Division

 

Returning to full strength, the Baffins defeated the Pumas on Monday evening by a final of 6-1. It was a huge night personally, for Avery Congleton with a double hat trick of six goals! Emma Sekscinski had the solo goal for the Pumas. Goalies in the game were Marlee Geppert and Kaylee Schmidt.

In the second game of the evening, the Bengals were able to over come the Artics by a final of 5-1. Macy Steinwedel opened the scoring for the Bengals with her goal at 17:05 but Addison Wood tied the game at 7:10 remaining in the first half. Lacy Bayley then took over all the scoring duties for the remainder of the night with five consecutive goals for the Bengals. The goalkeepers were Allison Clark and Mycah Smith.

The final game of the evening before heading into the 4th of July breaks was a defensive battle between the Corals and the Seahawks. Rylee Pettyjohn finally earned a goal for the Seahawks with 5:30 remaining but Maggie Mitchell then got the tie with her goal at 1:50, making the final a 1-1 result. Mikayla Smith and Allison Clark were the goalies for the game.

Games resume on Monday, July 9th with the Corals vs the Baffins, The Pumas vs the Bengals and concluding with the Artics vs the Seahawks.
