Five on the Side with Future Generations

Five on the side with Jettyrat and Future Generations

I am definitely enjoying this bands music and looking forward to seeing them at Firefly. If you missed the earlier post with an intro to their music, check out Stars and You’ve Got Me Flush.

1. What should people going to Firefly know about you?
This is our first festival ever, so we’re going to give it our all and do our best to add some good vibes to the weekend. We’re buying a bunch of tents and snacks. As for seeing other acts: We love and look up to Chance the Rapper, Phantogram, Glass Animals, The Shins and a barrage of other artists in the lineup. And when we’re not at their shows, we’ll be hanging under some tents with our friends and fans. Come on by!

2. How did you get selected for Firefly and what was your reaction when you found out you were going to be a part of the festival?
The story goes: Our brand-new booking agent, the honorable Len, submitted us for the Firefly fan vote and the wonderful fans chose us, which is just completely wild. So, Firefly ended up being the first show Len got for us, which is what we call in the music biz a “good start.” Len’s clearly got the magic touch. For us, it’s both humbling and extremely exciting to be chosen and we have no choice but to put on a killer show. And a killer show it will be.

3. I saw you guys were touring with Savoir Adore, it’s pretty cool that you both will be at Firefly. Are you going to stay for some or all of the festival? If so who are you most excited to see?
Savoir Adore was the first band that ever took us out on the road. And we actually just played a show with them in Brooklyn in February. We massively love and respect Savoir for all the stuff they’ve done for us. They’re the ultimate band: good folks making great music.

4. Your music vibe reminds me a little bit of Moon Taxi, which was one of my top three shows last year at Firefly, so no pressure or anything but I’m expecting big things. J Who do you guys think of as you musical influences?
No pressure at all! We strive to exceed everyone’s expectations when we play live. We really look up to bands like Moon Taxi, Foster the People, Portugal the Man and other indie electronic bands that can bring the heat for a live show.

5. Why should Firefly attendees see you live?
‘Cuz we be bringing that heat! Seriously though, come kick things off with us on Friday, it’ll be a perfect start to your Firefly weekend.
