Galaxy Quest is one of my favorite comedic films to watch. I laugh at the same parts and sometimes new ones every time I watch it. It has Tim Allen, Alan Rickman, Sigourney Weaver, Tony Shalhoub, Daryl Mitchell and Sam Rockwell.

These six play the cast of a space TV series that ended but they continue to do conventions and store openings. Jason Nesmith (Tim Allen) is approached by a race of aliens for his help in saving their planet from another evil alien who is tormenting them. Nesmith doesn’t believe them at first but then soon finds out they are really aliens and asks for help from his fellow actors.

They stumble their way through trying to help this race of aliens who truly believe that Nesmith and his friends are a real space crew. This film is full of hilarious sequences that will stick in your mind long after the movie is over. Galaxy Quest is fun, quirky and fast-paced. You might not like it on your first time, but you will definitely like it on your 3rd, 4th or even 5th go-around. Enjoy!

Such a cult classic. This film could have been a disaster, but instead it’s a delightful surprise. It really does get better and better the more you watch it. Tim Allen delivers his part to perfection, Alan Rickman shows you why he was such a great actor, and Sigourney Weaver solidifies the trio.

But it’s not just those three that are fun to watch. You could have fun watching this movie and only paying attention to Tony Shalhoub’s face. His expressions are magical. Sam Rockwell is hilarious. But if I had to hand an Oscar to anyone, it would be to Enrico Colantoni. He plays the leader of the Thermians, and his line delivery and mannerisms are great, no matter how many times you watch it.

There’s really nothing to hate about this film. Good effects, good acting, funny, dramatic, and solid direction. What more can you ask for?
