Here's What's Happening the Weekend of May 13-15 in Coastal Delaware
If you’ve been busy building your ark and need a break to enjoy some quality coastal Delaware events and happenings, then this weekend is the perfect opportunity to do so.
Yes we did, in fact, make yet another reference to the Biblical ark that’s been mentioned many times over the last few days. But we’re hoping that after several days of rain and gloomy weather, this weekend will provide a little relief and a chance for some enjoyable springtime activities here at the Delaware beaches.
There’s definitely some fun things on tap, so let’s keep our collective fingers crossed that this weekend will provide a chance to do just that.
There’s a couple of fun festivals planned for this weekend, as well as some outdoor events for the more physically fit among us – okay, you can just come out and watch if you don’t fall into that category. We promise a good time still awaits you, no matter your degree of physical fitness and endurance.
And if all the running, or watching, leaves you a bit tired and in need of a pick me up, it’s the perfect opportunity for a trip to Crooked Hammock Brewery in Lewes for this year’s beer festival.
Regardless on what you have planned for this weekend, what we need is some nice weather to get all of us in the springtime mood, with Memorial Day and the summertime season just around the corner. So let’s just hope Mother Nature hears our plea and cooperates this weekend.
We’re optimistic that’s going to happen, so here are our selections for fun coastal Delaware activities for the weekend of May 13-15. Enjoy!
- Maritime Day (May 14). Planned for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Lewes Ferry Terminal, this event is a celebration of America’s maritime history and will be held rain or shine. Among the scheduled events are a water cannon demonstration, a helicopter water rescue demonstration, maritime displays and vessel tours. This is a FREE event and is open to the public.
