RMD-What is it and Why do I Need to Take it?

First what is RMD? It stands for Required Minimum Distribution. After all those years of growing your IRA or other retirement account the government is looking to get some of those tax dollars. So in order to achieve this, they force you to take distributions from your retirement accounts. Although we do get asked all the time, can we avoid this?
