Indoor League Report Week Five

 

Newberry and Coker played to a 0-0 tie in the first game of the division on Sunday afternoon. Coker will be the #6 seed in the tourney playing at 12:30 against the #3 seed, BelmontA. Newberryy is the #5 seed due to the goal differential and will play the #4 seed, SRock at 1:00. The winners will move on to play the #1 or #2 seeds, WChester and Queens at 3:00 and 3:30.

WChester earned the #1 seed by defeating BelmontA behind a four-goal outburst by Brynn Evick while holding BelmontA scoreless. SRock and Queens played to a 1-1 result with Harper Serman scoring for SRock and Harper Derrick getting the goal for Queens.

In the senior division Salisbury defeated WashColl by a final of 3-2. Hannah Maney gave WashColl the early lead with a goal at 18:00 in the opening half but Aubrie Myers tied the game at 14:35 for Salisbury. Maney scored again at 14:00 to put her team into the lead just before halftime. Carrie Clausius scored at 7:15 to pull Salisbury back into a tie and then Myers got the winning goal at 1:42 left in the match.

F & M took the first half lead on a pair of goals by Kendall McCabe while Alex Ellis scored just before half to cut the lead to 2-1 for F & M over Wesley. Norah Block scored at 6:10 to tie the game for Wesley. Block then scored the winning goal at 2:38 and Addison Wood got the insurance goal at 1:50 for Wesley.

Going into the final week of play for the senior division Salisbury appears to have one of the two playoff spots tied down while Wesley, and WashColl have a shot at the other playoff position.

 

Salisbury will play Wesley at 1:30 while WashColl will go against F&M at 2:00 on Monday, February 17.
