Rehoboth Avenue Greene Turtle to move to Route 1

March 8, 2016

The Greene Turtle restaurant on Rehoboth Avenue in Rehoboth Beach closed March 6, but the franchise plans to reopen with a new location on Route 1.

The company has not announced where the new location will be. The Greene Turtle on the Boardwalk at Wilmington Avenue in Rehoboth will remain open.

In a statement, the company said the new location will be larger, more conveniently located and will serve a larger volume of customers.

A company statement said, “We are excited about this move as it will give us a more substantial second operation in the area. We look forward to announcing the grand opening of our new location later this year."

Co-owner William Frankis did not respond to requests for comment.

The restaurant at 52 Rehoboth Ave. was formerly Irish Eyes but was converted to The Greene Turtle in 2014.
