Irish Eyes/Broadkill Review reading series continues March 30
The Irish Eyes/Broadkill Review reading series continues at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, at Irish Eyes Milton, featuring Ellen Prentiss Campbell, author of “Contents Under Pressure,” and Lucy Simpson, poet and author of “Matchstick & Bramble.”
In her book, seasoned writer and literary critic Prentiss Campbell presents her first full-length collection of short fiction. This book, a collection of 11 short stories, explores loss and yearning, hope and fear, and the tension between imagination, memory, and reality. The book was nominated for the 2015 National Book Award, and has just been released in paperback from The Broadkill River Press.
Coloradan Simpson’s first collection of poetry, the aptly named “Matchstick & Bramble,” is a provocative, modern reimagining of many of the old Grimm’s Fairy Tales, and it is not surprising that this chapbook has garnered early acclaim.
The authors will be available for purchases and book signings.
The evening will be hosted by Linda Blaskey, poetry and interview editor; Gary Hanna, contributing editor and literary reviewer; and Jamie Brown, publisher and editor-in-chief.
