This weekend also marks the 13th edition of one of the spring season’s most popular festivals in Milford, as well as THE annual event for those who love to sit peacefully with a pair of binoculars and enjoy area wildlife.
Yes, it’s Delmarva Birding Weekend, which brings scores of bird lovers to coastal Delaware each and every year.
Wow, talk about a wide selection of fun things to do on what we hope will be a beautiful weekend at the Delaware beaches. Let’s look a little closer at each of these fabulous local events:
Coastal Delaware Running Festival (April 22-24): Featuring three races in three days, this is the biggest running event of the year in coastal Delaware, featuring thousands of runners every April. There’s a 9K race, as well as a half marathon and a full marathon for participants to choose from. All courses feature Delaware State Parks, with the main event not only named Delaware’s top marathon by Trip Advisor, but also serving as a qualifying race for the Boston Marathon. Perks for all participants include complimentary post race beer (for those 21 and over), a post race buffet, live entertainment and a finish line beach party.
