Girl Scouts Unit 14 treats senior citizens to cookies
May 17, 2016
CHEER Inc. was chosen by Girl Scouts Service Unit 14 of the Indian River School District to be this year’s community organization in its Operation Taste of Home campaign. Each year, service members all over the world and those in need of a treat on the Delmarva Peninsula are treated to boxes of Girl Scout cookies.
Customers purchase boxes or cases of cookies for service members and community organizations as part of the community service component of the Girl Scout Cookie Program.
Members of Girl Scouts Service Unit 14 delivered 30 cases of assorted Girl Scout cookies to the Georgetown CHEER Center May 5. CHEER Nutrition Director Florence Mason said the cookies will be included as treats for senior citizens in the homebound meals program.
