Charles J. Sebold, government retiree
Charles J. Sebold, 81, died quietly in his home in Millsboro, Tuesday, May 17, 2011.
Mr. Sebold retired from the federal government as a program analyst at the headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps in Arlington, Va. He is also retired from the U.S. Air Force in Dover as a senior master sergeant. He is a veteran of the Korean War and was assigned to the USS Rochester, CA 124 in the US Seventh Fleet. He was awarded the Presidential Unit Citation while serving on the Rochester. He also received the Korean Service Medal. He served in the D.C. Air National Guard, Andrews AFB, Md.
Mr. Sebold was born in Cumberland, Md. to parents James Dorsey and Anna Mary Kesler, Sebold May 3, 1930. He had two brothers, James Thomas and Gerald Edward. He is survived by his wife Rosina Catherine Sebold of 52 years marriage; and three children, Raymond Charles Sebold of Georgetown, Susan Lee Spangler and her husband Daniel of Upper Marlboro, Md. and Nancy Ann Beil and her husband William of Millsboro; and his godson Charles Theologus and wife Jacqueline of Rehoboth. Mr. Sebold has seven grandchildren: Raymond Sebold Jr., Megan and Kirsten Sebold, Matthew and Michael Beil, and Seth and Miranda Spangler. In addition to the grandchildren, he has five great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, May 23, at Watson Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass service will be held at noon, Tuesday, May 24, at St. Michael the Archangel, 202 Edwards St., Georgetown. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Paralyzed Veterans of America, 7 Mill Brook Rd, Wilton, NH 03086 and /or Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
