April 16, 2017

The Colonel David Hall Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution inducted two new members at the April 8 meeting. They are Elaine Henze and Debbie Russo.

Henze is a descendent of Revolutionary patriot Isaac Hathaway, who served as a staff officer in the Bristol, Mass. 2nd Regiment. Russo's patriot ancestor is Daniel Loree, who served as an ensign in Seely's Battalion of State Troops.

The chapter undertakes numerous service projects in the community, including maintaining the historic ca.1739 Maull House on Pilottown Road, awarding scholarships and delivering meals to the Home of the Brave. The DAR is a service organization with the mission of promoting patriotism, historic preservation and education. Membership is open to any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution.
