Beebe presents You Make a Difference Award to Sharon Fried
Sharon Fried, an education assistant in Beebe Medical Center’s Education Department, has been honored with the You Make a Difference Award for June. Fried has been highly praised by her peers.
As an education assistant, Fried keeps the education classroom running smoothly, which often entails juggling and rescheduling bookings, as several departments use the room. She is known for her quick response and for going above and beyond to accommodate fellow team members.
Fried has a positive and friendly attitude throughout the day, and the quality of her assistance is genuine and unconditional. At present she is responsible for entering and tracking all mandatory documents that Beebe Medical Center team members complete annually. The job is time-consuming and requires an eye for detail, yet she gets it accomplished each year as if it were an easy assignment.
Whether Fried is assisting the American Heart Association Training Center coordinator with classes and paperwork, or maintaining education files, she can be depended upon to get the job done efficiently, accurately and with a smile.
Beebe Medical Center’s You Make a Difference employee recognition program, which was established in 2002, gives employees the opportunity to recognize their colleagues for outstanding service. The program is similar to an employee of the month program, but 18 employees can be selected annually. Each nomination, which may be submitted by fellow employees or management, must meet criteria developed by the committee.
The You Make a Difference Review Board evaluates eligible nominations each month. Winners are announced in a surprise ceremony in which the committee meets in their department and presents the award. Employees selected for the award receive a parking space with sign/plaque for a month; $100 gift certificate to business of choice within Sussex County; letter of congratulations and personal visit from Jeffrey Fried (no relation to Sharon), Beebe president; photo for wall plaque on hall outside cafeteria; special pin for badge, and letter to team member’s director and department recognition.
