Stonewall Democrats hold fundraiser in Rehoboth
Joe Daigle, Delaware Stonewall Democrats president, presents Sarah McBride with the 2017 Trailblazer Award. McBride spoke to gathered crowd saying “In fact, Delaware is the only state in the nation that passed two major pieces of LGBT equality legislation in one session.” She went on to say “Delaware is one of only five states that has Democrats in control of the both chambers of the Legislature of the state and a Democratic governor. We can and should be and are on the front lines of the resistance and the front lines of this movement for equality, and that should continue moving forward.”

The Barbara Gittings Delaware Stonewall Democrats held its Annual Fundraiser June 17 at Mariachi in Rehoboth Beach. At the fundraiser the Stonewall Democrats also presented the Trailblazer Award to Sarah McBride, national spokesperson for the Human Rights Campaign, and the first openly trans person to speak at the Democratic National Convention.
