Delaware Comedy's David Warick teaches drama for kids
David Warick, the founder and artistic director of Delaware Comedy Theatre, will be running a Summer Theatre Showcase for children ages 10 to 14 from 9 a.m. to noon, Monday to Friday, July 11 to 15, at the Creativity Camps at Plantations East in Lewes.
The cost for the week is $125. The classes will focus on the study of improvisational games, acting techniques and scene study, and there will be a showcase scene presentation for family and friends on Friday.

The second camp will be part of the Milton Theatre Summer Camp series and will be a Teen Improv and Theatre Games Class for ages 12-18, running 12:30 to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, July 18 to 22 with a Friday performance . The cost is $125. Teens will learn how to think on their feet and make up characters and stories through easy-to-learn improv games in a fun, supportive environment. Warick is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he was a student of Stella Adler, Tony-Award Winner John Rubenstein and renowned theater director Anne Bogart. He has worked as a professional actor, improviser, teacher and writer for over 15 years and is a member of Screen Actors' Guild, Actors Equity, the Writer’s Guild and the Motion Picture Screen Cartoonists Guild. He is currently the drama instructor at the Southern Delaware School of the Arts in Selbyville.
Warick has taught improv and drama to adults, teens and children on both coasts, and he developed the popular teen improv stage show, LAUGH OUT, in Los Angeles. In July 2005, Warick founded Delaware Comedy Theatre and began teaching workshops and classes, as well as directing the group in regular shows in Rehoboth, Lewes, Dewey and the surrounding areas.
Delaware Comedy Theatre has also performed at the Philadelphia Improv Festival, the Baltimore Improv Festival and three times at Chapel Hill’s renowned Dirty South Improv Festival, the largest event of its kind in the United States. In 2006, Warick also joined the faculty of the Philadelphia Improv Theater as an instructor.
