Nadine ‘Deanie’ B. Townsend, loved to travel

Nadine "Deanie" B. Townsend, 75, of Bethany Beach, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. She was born in Chincoteague, Va., Wednesday, March 18, 1942, daughter of the late Norman and Norma Lee (Bloxom) Bunting.

Ms. Townsend loved to travel. Taking cruises to exotic destinations was among her favorites. She enjoyed cultivating and nuturing new growth in her gardens. Ms. Townsend was also an accomplished cook, putting love and care into the many dishes she prepared for her family and friends. Above all, she cherished her treasured family. She was a loving and devoted companion, mother and sister. She was loved by many, and will be missed by everyone who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Townsend was preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Bowden; and her brother-in-law, Herbert Bowden.

She is survived by her companion, Stan Grella of Bethany Beach; her son, C.P. Townsend of Dagsboro; her brothers: Wayne Bunting and his wife Barbara of Dagsboro, and Roy Bunting and his wife Debbie of Dagsboro.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 14, at 3 p.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Clarksville Chapel, 34874 Atlantic Ave., Ocean View, where friends may visit beginning at 2 p.m. Interment will be private and take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Ms. Townsend's memory to the COPD Foundation: 641 South St. NW, Washington, DC 20001.
